Return to Learn-What Parents Need to Know
Posted on 09/06/2020

We are excited to welcome all of our students on Tuesday, September 8, 2020. This school year will look different in many ways, and we want to assure you that we will continue to communicate with you as information becomes available.

Return to Learn Packet available in ParentVUE

  1. Normally schools send home a “first day packet” with important information and forms to be completed.
  2. This year PWCS is providing the information virtually and paperless, via the Return to Learn Packet, now available in ParentVUE.
  3. All families should complete the Return to Learn Packet by Friday, September 18, 2020.
  4. The information you provide will allow school staff to ensure the safety of your student this school year.
  5. To access the Return to Learn Packet, please login to your ParentVUE account and go to “Online Registration” in the top right corner.
  6. For ease of use, a web browser on a computer is recommended. The forms can be completed using the ParentVUE App for Apple devices or on android devices using a browser.
  7. Instructions for completing Return to Learn Packet (PDF).
  8. If a parent/guardian needs to make changes to information once they submit the Return to Learn Packet, they can resubmit anytime with updated information following the same instructions in number seven.
  9. If you need assistance, or do not have an active ParentVUE account, please contact your child’s school.

Does your student have a preferred name?

  • Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to change their student’s preferred name when completing the Return to Learn Packet in ParentVUE. School staff can also update the student's preferred name field for parents/guardians upon request. Changes to the preferred name should appear in Zoom the following day. If the student does not have a preferred name differing from their first name, no action is required.

Attendance

  • During the first quarter, when most students will attend virtually, students should participate in real-time learning whenever available and possible. Teachers will provide live lessons throughout the week and attendance will be taken. They may also hold check-ins through Canvas and/or Zoom. Although students are expected to attend live sessions, parents should contact the student's teacher for an alternative option, if needed. If a student will be absent, parents should communicate with the school to alert them of the reason. View further information regarding attendance policies on the Return to Learn webpage.

Return to Learn webpage

  • For your convenience, we have created a Return to Learn webpage with information and resources you and your student need to start the school year off right.

We look forward to our Return to Learning on September 8.
